The TP-Link RE220 Wi-Fi Extender is designed to expand your existing Wi-Fi coverage with next-generation 11AC Wi-Fi technology. It works seamlessly with any standard Wi-Fi router, creating stronger dual-band connections in hard-to-reach areas, ensuring seamless wireless coverage throughout your home or office.

The RE220 features APS (Adaptive Path Selection), which allows the dual-band or tri-band range extender to dynamically select the best backhaul connection between 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 5GHz2 bands, ensuring the RE and router have the best possible connection and maintaining superior overall Wi-Fi performance.

Compared to the NETGEAR AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX3700-100NAS), the RE220 boasts maximum wireless transmission rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. The range and coverage specifications, along with the number of connected devices, were defined according to test results under normal usage conditions. However, the actual wireless transmission rate, wireless coverage, and number of connected devices may vary due to several factors, including building materials, physical objects and obstacles, network conditions, and client limitations.

The RE220 operates within a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F) and provides up to 44% more bandwidth than single-band N300 Wi-Fi extenders. It can boost Internet Wi-Fi coverage up to 1200 square feet and connect up to 30 devices (2.4GHz: 300Mbps; 5GHz: 433Mbps).

The RE220 helps eliminate Wi-Fi dead zones, allowing you to enjoy a lag-free connection on any type of device, including wired devices via the Fast Ethernet port. It is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows 98SE, NT, 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7, 8, and 10, as well as Mac OS, NetWare, UNIX, and Linux.

The RE220 helps you stay connected by expanding Wi-Fi coverage for your smart devices, such as smartphones, smart TVs, Fire Sticks, Google Chromecasts, and Alexa Echo devices, among others. The setup process is straightforward, requiring just two simple taps to get connected, with a smart indicator light guiding you to the optimal installation location.

Additionally, the RE220 supports OneMesh technology, which enables the creation of a seamless OneMesh network for enhanced roaming when paired with the Archer A7 Router (with more devices to be updated in the future). The Ethernet port on the RE220 can turn your wired Internet connection into a wireless access point or function as a wireless adapter to connect wired devices, such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, or smart TVs.

It's important to note that all Wi-Fi extenders are designed to increase or improve Wi-Fi coverage, not to directly increase internet speed. In some cases, improving signal reliability can affect overall throughput. The system requirements for the RE220 remain the same as the previously mentioned operating systems.
